What’s the conversion between ATA and PSI?
Pounds per square inch (PSI) is the pressure that results when a 1-pound force is applied to a unit area of 1 square inch. It is the measurement of pressure used in the imperial unit system of measurement.
Normal atmospheric pressure at sea level is considered 1 ATA, which is roughly 14.7 PSI.
So 1 ATA = 14.7 PSI, 1.5 ATA = 22.05 PSI, 2.0 ATA = 29.4 PSI.
What is the difference between soft shell and hard shell hyperbaric chambers?

Hard shell chambers are made of rigid materials such as metal or acrylic which can withstand higher pressures. They can be made at high treatment pressure such as 2.0 ATA, 3.0 ATA or even higher. Hard shell chambers are often used in clinics or hospitals.
Soft shell hyperbaric chambers, on the other hand, are made of flexible materials like nylon or PVC. They operate at lower pressures (for example 1.3 ATA or 1.5 ATA) compared to hard shell chambers and are typically used for mild hyperbaric oxygen therapy (mHBOT) applications. Soft chambers are portable, more affordable, and easier to set up, making them popular for home use and wellness centers. However, they cannot achieve the same pressure levels as hard shell chambers.
